Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verifies benefits on each admission and documents billing details.
• Counsels patients/families on financial obligations, co-pays, deductibles and funding sources.
• Performs upfront collections when appropriate.
• Collects data and prepares reports to track upfront collection activity.
• Responds promptly to insurance benefit verification requests to support admission.
• Documents benefit and eligibility information accurately for staff.
• Reviews explanations of benefits to ensure claims are processed and paid correctly.
• Determines third party and self-pay liability and estimates length of stay.
