Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health, or related field.
• 1+ year of mental/behavioral health experience preferred.
• Experience in managed care pre-certification and level of care assessments preferred.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referral, treatment planning, and working with diverse populations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Aufgaben

• Facilitates intake, admission, and prior authorization processes for incoming patients.
• Performs insurance benefit verifications and disseminates information to patients, families, and internal staff.
• Provides coverage for the Call Center Team and assists with insurance pre-certifications during high volume.
• Provides ongoing assessment of patient status in admission and authorization processes.
• Responds to requests for services, assesses needs, and refers accordingly; designates appropriate level of care.
• Follows EMTALA regulations for verification and precertifications when appropriate.
• Schedules/pre-admission assessments and communicates recommendations to patients or families.
• Collaborates with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate admissions.
• Maintains documentation involved with admissions and crisis intervention as needed.
• Provides education on healthcare and social resource systems to empower patients and families.
