Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing in Merrifield, VA, seeks a dedicated Financial Aid Officer to guide students through aid eligibility, FAFSA, and award packaging, supporting enrollment from start to finish.

You will collaborate with academic and student services teams, ensure compliance with federal and institutional rules, and help students achieve success through clear financial literacy and timely disbursements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial aid, student services, customer service, or related field.
• Strong customer service orientation with a genuine passion for helping others.
• Detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and counseling skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
• Must be eligible to enroll in the NSLDS.
• Nice to have: Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Nice to have: Prior experience in higher education or financial aid administration.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Title IV regulations and institutional policies.
• Nice to have: Understanding of financial literacy principles and student loan repayment options.

Responsibilities

• Financial Aid Counseling & Support: Advise students and families on eligibility, procedures, and funding sources.
• File Compliance & Processing: Package and process financial aid awards in compliance with regulations.
• Student Retention & Success: Initiate timely communication on documentation and award status.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work with academic and student services teams to deliver a cohesive experience.
