Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Field Service Technician – Communications to perform onsite service, repair, and maintenance of communications equipment at healthcare facilities. You will troubleshoot complex issues, document findings, and train hospital staff as needed.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of field service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly. A valid driver's license is required and the role is based in the United States with travel to

Qualifications

• 2 years of installation or production line experience with Stryker Communications or 2-3 years industry field service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with surgeons, hospital staff, nurses and biomedical personnel.
• Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
• Knowledge of video, audio and data communications systems.
• Knowledge of OR etiquette and basic hospital procedure.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performing field service, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and quality checks on Stryker Communications equipment at customer sites.
• Following written procedures for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Managing service calls from initial issue through resolution and maintaining accurate technical and quality documentation.
• Partnering with Operations, R&D, and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Communicating effectively with customers and healthcare professionals, including hospital biomedical and nursing staff.
• Providing onsite training to new employees and, when needed, hospital staff on equipment and technical processes.
• Supporting post-market surveillance activities and appropriately escalating issues that may require FDA notification or MDR reporting.
• Maintaining compliance with company policies, quality systems, and required ComplianceWire training.
• Keeping leaders and team members informed of significant issues, risks, and technical challenges.
• Exercising the independence and authority needed to ensure quality and compliance requirements are met and making decisions that may impact immediate operations and, in some cases, the broader organization.
