Actalent in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support advanced semiconductor equipment in a high-volume cleanroom. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining tool reliability, fault isolation, and rapid issue resolution on complex process systems.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and control subsystems, perform preventive maintenance, install and start up equipment, and collaborate with process engineers and operations to maximize uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and industrial automation.
• Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems in high-tech environments.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs.
• Knowledge of PLC-based control systems and HMIs.
• Experience with vacuum, motion control, robotics systems.
• Proactive in safety and quality with tool uptime focus.
• Hands-on diagnostic test equipment experience.
• Excellent communication with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work onsite in a fast-paced fab.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair complex semiconductor process equipment.
• Perform fault isolation using schematics, diagnostics, and alarms.
• Use DMMs, oscilloscopes, and software tools to verify failures.
• Repair motors, sensors, PLC I/O, power supplies, and actuators.
• Conduct preventive, predictive, calibration, and corrective maintenance.
• Assist with installation, startup, qualification, software upgrades.
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and improve OEE.
• Respond quickly to alarms and downtime events.
• Collaborate with process, manufacturing, and maintenance teams.
• Maintain detailed service documentation.
• Complete equipment training and stay updated on technologies.
• Ensure safety, quality, and tool availability on the production floor.
• Work in AMHS environments and support wafer pods.
• Hands-on work on manufacturing equipment rather than desk tasks.
