Job summary

StaffXpert LLC is seeking a Field Operations Specialist in New York, NY. This hands-on IT infrastructure role covers data centers, MDF/IDF spaces, and power systems to ensure reliable operation across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will install, configure, and maintain hardware, manage assets, and coordinate with vendors while traveling to sites as needed. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, CS or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure or data centers.
• Experience managing MDF and IDF technology rooms.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, Cisco, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and data center operations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to travel between sites and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain IT spaces (MDF/IDF) and data center environments.
• Monitor operations to ensure availability of infrastructure equipment.
• Install and maintain UPS, PDUs, and power systems.
• Perform hardware installation, relocation, and decommissioning.
• Rack, stack, and cable servers, switches, routers, and devices.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for asset lifecycles.
• Maintain asset inventories and documentation.
• Perform network patching and connectivity testing.
• Assist with circuit cutovers and infrastructure upgrades.
• Troubleshoot with network/server/telecom teams; ensure clean rooms.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
