Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Montgomery, AL seeks a Field Engineer to support on-site field management under the Superintendent. You will perform project layout, supervise trade workers, review plans, ensure safety, and help manage quality control.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 1 year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong communication skills and software proficiency: Excel templates, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.
• Preferred internships in the construction industry are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items.
• Produce production trend analysis for quantities of work in place for schedules and cost reports.
• Assist with quality control, safety initiatives, and coordination of trade partners.
• Supervise a small workforce to gain supervisory experience.
• Coordinate material deliveries and verify requirements against delivery status.
• Inspect materials for quantity, quality and condition; report damaged items.
• Assist foremen and trades with plans and specifications interpretation.
• Oversee trade partners and direct workforce to gain supervisory experience.
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings and weekly audits.
• Collaborate with VDC team on scope of work and deliverables for field operations.
• Review 3D model viewing and scheduling software.
