Job summary

Procon Consulting, LLC seeks an experienced Construction Inspector to provide on-site quality assurance, inspection, and construction management support for a federal facility renovation in Washington, DC. The role requires handling inspections for occupied facilities, reviewing submittals, RFIs, and changes, and coordinating with government representatives to maintain project quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant construction experience.
• Experience providing construction inspection, QA, or construction management support on federal government projects.
• Experience with occupied federal facilities construction and renovation.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and QA procedures.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite construction inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specs, and codes.
• Monitor daily activities, evaluate workmanship, and verify material installation methods meet quality standards.
• Document inspection findings and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
• Witness and document system testing and inspections to ensure design compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, nonconformance notices, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and government representatives to resolve issues.
• Ensure OSHA safety standards and site safety procedures are followed.
• Support project lifecycle activities including closeout and reporting.
