Job summary

Procon Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to provide onsite quality assurance and inspection support for a federal facility renovation in Washington, DC. The role requires overseeing inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems within occupied facilities and coordinating with government representatives and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting and managing quality on federal construction projects.
• Ability to review drawings, specs, codes, and contract documents.
• Familiarity with OSHA and safety standards.
• Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, government reps, and contractors.
• Ability to complete a federal government suitability background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite inspections and QA oversight to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and building codes.
• Monitor daily construction activities, evaluate workmanship, and verify material installation quality.
• Document inspection findings, track deficiencies, and coordinate with project teams for corrective actions.
• Witness and document system testing to verify compliance with design and regulations.
• Review submittals, RFIs, drawings, specifications, changes, and VE proposals for compliance.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and project records.
• Support schedule coordination, cost estimating, budgeting, and reporting.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and government representatives to resolve issues.
• Verify OSHA safety standards and site safety procedures are followed.
• Assist project lifecycle activities including inspections, documentation, and project closeout.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders through meetings and correspondence.
