Job summary

The Building People is hiring an Onsite Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance at a large multi-building facility in Fort Worth, Texas. You will supervise skilled trades staff handling HVAC, electrical, plumbing, grounds, and general maintenance, ensuring work orders and PMs are completed safely and on schedule.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong communication with customer representatives and the ability to pass background checks; federal or large facility experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent experience directing operations and maintenance of a facility in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians and tradespeople.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customer representatives.
• Ability to pass a background/security screening and obtain facility access credentials.
• Preferred: federal or large facility supervision experience; knowledge of CMMS/building automation systems; formal training or certifications in a relevant trade.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise onsite maintenance staff performing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, grounds, and general building maintenance.
• Ensure work orders, preventive maintenance, and service requests are completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
• Support quality control inspections and partner with the Project Manager to resolve issues quickly.
• Coordinate with customer facility representatives to keep them informed of maintenance activity and respond to their needs.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of the facility's emergency procedures and participate in emergency response and drills as needed.
• Ensure your team stays current on required training, certifications, and safety practices.
• Track maintenance activity and work orders using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
