Job summary

Republic Services in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Waste Technician to assist in the collection, packaging and lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites, and to support spill response activities on site.

You will operate forklifts, inspect drums for integrity, and help ensure safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles while maintaining regulatory compliance.

This on-site role requires a 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire and may require a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate heavy and light equipment and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups throughout a customer’s facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Participate in spill response on site as needed.
• Operate forklifts.
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
