Job summary

Republic Services in Tacoma, WA seeks a hazardous waste handler to assist in collection, identification, packaging and safe lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites, and to participate in spill response as needed. This role requires operating forklifts, inspecting drums for integrity and regulatory compliance, and ensuring safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.

Minimum qualification: pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Qualifications

• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Making waste pickups at a customer’s facility.
• Packaging and labeling waste for compliance and efficiency.
• Participating in spill response on site as needed.
• Operating forklifts and inspecting drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensuring safe loading/unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Performing waste stream sampling and profiling.
