Job summary

Republic Services in Anchorage, AK seeks a Hazardous Waste Technician to assist in identification, packaging and lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and to perform on-site spill response and administrative duties.

You will conduct waste pickups at customer sites, perform bulking and consolidation, label and package waste, inspect drums for integrity, and ensure safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles. A 40-hour HAZWOPER training is required.

Qualifications

• Pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups throughout a customer's facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Participate in spill response on customer's site as needed.
• Operate forklifts.
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
