Job summary

WM is seeking an on-site program manager in the United States (Austin, TX area) to oversee storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes at client locations. You will coordinate, plan and supervise onsite personnel and vendors while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across federal, state and local rules.

You will communicate across teams, use CRM and scheduling tools, and push for cost-saving opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business or related field, or in lieu of degree
• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
• 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to the education requirement)
• HAZWOPER Certification Upon Hire and
• RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience Upon Hire and
• OSHA 24-Hour Certification Upon Hire and
• Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire drug/alcohol testing may be required by customer-contract requirements. Must be able to live and work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics for transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client site including profiling, scheduling, manifesting and loading bulk and drum loads.
• Consult with client to identify, design and implement cost saving opportunities and proposals.
• Establish clear communication channels with team and subcontractors using email, chat and video conferencing; track requests and updates.
• Prioritize urgent requests and schedule services with subcontractors; inform customers of delays or changes.
• Use CRM and scheduling software to streamline processes and coordinate services with subcontractors.
• Provide excellent customer service, being responsive and proactive to resolve issues quickly.
• Ensure compliance with client and government regulations through inspections and reporting; resolve issues promptly.
• Administer client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts.
• Promote a culture of safety by training site personnel to comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Education
