Job summary

WM seeks an on-site operations professional to plan and direct activities related to the storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes at client locations. You will supervise staff, liaise with clients and vendors, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The role includes coordinating logistics, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and handling contract-related invoicing and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business, or related field.
High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant experience.
2 years of relevant work experience in addition to education.
HAZWOPER Certification upon hire.
RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience upon hire.
OSHA 40-Hour Certification upon hire.
Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire drug testing may be required by customer contracts.

Responsibilities

Coordinate logistics for transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client site, including profiling, scheduling, manifesting, and loading.
Identify, design, and implement cost-saving opportunities and proposals.
Ensure regulatory compliance through inspections and reporting; resolve issues promptly.
Administer client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing and contracts.
Promote safety by training site personnel to follow regulations and perform duties safely.
Occasionally perform labor-intensive tasks (e.g., drum collection and bulking).
Supervise 1 full-time operations non-exempt employee.
