Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager to plan and direct onsite or remote activities at highly complex client locations in Illinois, handling hazardous and non-hazardous wastes while following federal, state, and local regulations.

You will supervise onsite personnel and/or contractors, ensure safety training, manage logistics, and implement cost-saving contracts. This role requires strong compliance focus, project coordination, and ability to optimize EBIT while meeting client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in job related field.
• High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire drug and/or alcohol testing may be required by certain customer-contract requirements.
• Such testing may include urinalysis, oral swab, drug hair follicle testing and/or alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team assignments to ensure compliant and efficient work.
• Promote safety by training site personnel and maintaining certifications.
• Coordinate logistics for transportation of waste from client site.
• Consult with client to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by reviewing inspections and reporting.
• Review client/vendor financial obligations and maintain contractual compliance.
• May perform labor-intensive tasks like drum collection.
