Job summary

Clarios is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Manager at our St. Joseph assembly plant. You will lead audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate environmental standards onsite five days a week.

You will develop EMS programs, coordinate training, evaluate regulatory changes, and drive continuous improvement across site teams and regional peers. A strong background in air and wastewater permitting is required, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, EHS Management, or related field with at least 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience in air permitting and wastewater permitting and knowledge of CAA, CWA, EPCRA, NESHAP, RCRA, CERCLA, SPCC.

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental Engineers to ensure compliance with facility, regional, corporate, and regulatory standards through audits, inspections, and accurate recordkeeping.
• Support investigations and corrective actions to maintain environmental compliance and data integrity.
• Develop and oversee environmental management systems in partnership with EHS Systems and Training, including training, hazard analysis, spill prevention, and regulatory preparedness.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to integrate environmental considerations into proposed changes and capital projects.
• Act as the primary technical resource for environmental compliance and continuous improvement across site and regional teams.
• Monitor regulatory changes, submit required reports, and identify opportunities for emissions reduction and emerging environmental technologies.
