Job summary

SPL is seeking a Lab Supervisor in Midland, TX to lead daily workflow and analytical testing operations in a fast-paced, accredited lab. You’ll guide personnel, coordinate testing priorities, and support employee development in a hands-on leadership role.

The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, oversees testing activities, and ensures safety, quality, and timely results while collaborating with cross-functional teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is required.
• 3–5 years of analytical lab experience in regulated environments.
• 2+ years of supervising laboratory personnel and workloads.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership and operational support to laboratory personnel.
• Prioritize and monitor petroleum/hydrocarbon testing workflows for timely results.
• Coordinate staffing, training, and performance management.
• Oversee instrumentation, calibrations, maintenance, and resources.
• Ensure compliance with analytical methods, quality systems, and SOPs.
• Review data and records for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and workflow issues.
• Monitor capacity, turnaround times, and KPIs.
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
