Job summary

SPL is seeking a Lab Supervisor in Midland, TX to lead daily workflows for field services teams, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery. You will supervise staff, coordinate scheduling, and maintain equipment and documentation in compliance with procedures and regulations.

Required: bachelor’s in a scientific field, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and strong problem-solving abilities. On-site, full-time role with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related scientific discipline.
• 3-5 years of progressively responsible analytical laboratory or comparable technical experience within a regulated environment.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience, including workflow coordination, employee development, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and provide supervision, direction, and support to assigned team.
• Assign and prioritize work while coordinating staffing, scheduling, workload distribution, training, and coverage.
• Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, development, and performance management.
• Oversee workflows, capacity, resources, service commitments, and turnaround times to support efficient and reliable operations.
• Ensure equipment, systems, tools, and supplies are properly operated, maintained, documented, and ready for use.
• Troubleshoot technical, equipment, documentation, and workflow issues, escalating complex concerns as appropriate.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved procedures, quality systems, client requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Review data, records, and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, traceability, and compliance.
• Support audits, investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve operational and customer-service issues.
