Job summary

New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) in Rochester, NY seeks an Engineer - Electric System Engineering to oversee a portfolio of transmission and distribution projects. You will design HV/MV/LV lines, review drawings, and ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.

You’ll work in a cross-functional team reporting to Sr. Manager - Projects, contributing to innovative solutions and industry engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years minimum relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment - Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and requirements.
• Ability to review and approve engineering work done by others - to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Engineering documentation and ability to document and interpret engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed, complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology & principles.
• Approve, maintain, & understand drawings (e.g., schematics, oneline diagrams).
• Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services.
• Utilize a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions across projects.
• Lead teams, mentor & review engineering work of others.
