Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP in Rochester, NY is seeking a Lines Engineer for Electric System Engineering to oversee HV/MV/LV line designs, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead cross-functional project teams on a portfolio of transmission and distribution projects.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3+ years minimum relevant experience
• Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation
• Practical engineering experience - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction
• Engineering documentation and ability to interpret and document engineering work
• Ability to review and approve engineering work to ensure compliance with standards
• Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment - Local, State and Federal requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methods
• Approve, maintain and understand drawings (schematics, oneline diagrams)
• Develop alternate methods or design concepts to improve processes/services
• Provide broad perspective to identify innovative solutions like DG, PV, fuel cells
• Lead teams, mentor and review engineering work
• Coordinate phases of engineering for assigned portions of a project/program
• Forecast, plan, schedule, monitor budgets and material orders
• Mentor, develop, and support engineers in technical skills
