Job summary

NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP, based in Rochester, NY, seeks an Engineer - Transmission to design and support high/medium/low-voltage transmission projects within NYSEG service territories as part of the TLD program.

The role emphasizes adherence to industry and company standards (RUS, Avangrid, NESC) using AutoCAD, PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, and Google Earth, while coordinating with procurement, construction and operations to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 years of total engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and Word; CYMCAP and/or SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Capital project engineering across all phases including scoping, budgeting, and design.
• Lead and oversee external detailed designers and concept designs.
• Perform field circuit reviews and propose improvements.
• Identify and execute special projects to improve processes and performance.
• Oversee studies evaluating equipment and system performance for reliability and efficiency.
• Develop engineering analyses and ensure designs meet codes and standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the team.
