Job summary

Optum is seeking an Onsite EAP Counselor in Austin, TX to deliver on-site behavioral health services for a dedicated customer within our workplace programs. This per diem, non-exempt role provides assessment, referral, training, and incident response support.

As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you will collaborate with HR and managers to address workplace issues, conduct solution-focused consultations, and document case notes in the clinical system in accordance with HIPAA and

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health discipline.
• Current, unrestricted license at the independent practice level.
• 3+ years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to work onsite as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct solution-focused consultations; help clients define goals and action steps.
• Assess and refer to appropriate programs and services including Worklife, behavioral health, and community resources.
• Assist with referrals for members needing ongoing or additional counseling services.
• Provide limited aftercare monitoring to support treatment continuation and safety.
• Provide manager consultations on workplace issues, performance, trauma, and organizational change.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during Critical Incidents.
• Conduct on-site trainings for managers and employees (wellness seminars, health fairs, Lunch & Learn).
• Participate in monthly 1-on-1s, team meetings, and other customer meetings as required.
• Document member contact/case information in the appropriate clinical management system per policy.
