Job summary

SHR Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to deliver on-site and remote Tier II desktop and endpoint support for DoD DISA/J6 environments in the National Capital Region, primarily at the Pentagon. The role includes imaging, configuration, software deployment, and STIG compliance.

Candidates should have at least five years of DoD/Federal IT experience, ITIL 4 Foundation, and a DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II cert, with a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Desktop engineering, endpoint administration, or Tier II support.
• Experience in a DoD or Federal enterprise IT environment.
• Experience with workstation imaging, OS deployment, software installation, and endpoint provisioning.
• Experience managing Windows desktop environments and Active Directory.
• Experience with workstation lifecycle management and technology refresh.
• Familiarity with enterprise ticketing/ITSM systems.
• Experience with Windows deployment technologies and endpoint-management solutions.
• ITIL 4 Foundation.
• HDI Desktop Support Technician (HDI-DST) or equivalent customer-support certification.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II compliant certifications such as Security+ CE.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite Tier II desktop and endpoint support for DoD customers.
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals.
• Image and configure Government workstations.
• Install, configure, and maintain OS, drivers, and applications.
• Repair and maintain desktop hardware and peripherals.
• Document troubleshooting activity and resolutions in ticketing system.
• Escalate complex incidents to Tier III with context.
• Support CAC/PKI/MFA and DoD authentication tasks.
• Support workstation migrations and technology refresh initiatives.
• Maintain asset inventories and AD-based environments.
