Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Level 2 Data Center Technician to support post-production operations in a Beaver Dam data center. You will handle WiFi, AV systems, security systems, and network connectivity, performing patching, tracing, and basic repairs for fiber and copper cabling.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, knowledge of networking fundamentals, and experience in ticket-based environments. Onsite work with a focus on physical layer infrastructure is expected.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years IT support or data center experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting with networks and WiFi.
• Experience in ticket-based support environments.
• Onsite data center or field support experience.
• Hands-on fiber optic and copper cabling, patching, tracing.

Responsibilities

• Resolve service tickets related to WiFi, AV systems, security systems, and network connectivity.
• Perform break/fix troubleshooting using standard procedures.
• Conduct cable tracing, patching, and physical layer troubleshooting.
• Perform fiber optic cable support including patching, tracing, inspection, and basic repair.
• Perform copper cable support including patching, termination validation, and troubleshooting (Cat5e/Cat6).
• Troubleshoot fiber and copper connectivity issues such as signal loss, mispatching, and physical faults.
• Perform fiber and copper tracing to validate connectivity paths and identify routing issues.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, and protection of all cabling.
• Escalate complex issues to L3 or engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate ticket documentation.
