Job summary

JLL is hiring a Data Center Operating Engineer in Charlotte, NC to maintain and troubleshoot critical facility systems. You will manage electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and control systems to ensure 100% uptime, respond to alarms, and support incident management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with electrical, HVAC, piping, and critical facility systems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operations manuals, and procedures.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and operate data center systems for 100% uptime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
• Record readings and adjust as necessary for optimal operation.
• Monitor building management systems and respond to alarms.
• Analyze system performance and take corrective actions.
• Manage work orders, CMMS, and vendor communications.
• Follow hazardous materials handling and safety policies.
• Support incident management and site emergencies as needed.
