Job summary

Fiber Materials Inc. is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to join our onsite team in Biddeford, ME.

The role focuses on implementing policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with NIST and CMMC standards to safeguard our high‑tech materials infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years in cybersecurity, strong incident response and communication skills, and the ability to work with IT and other departments in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security/Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
• Proficiency in cyber security assessment tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of network and system security, intrusion detection and prevention, and incident response.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry developments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies and procedures per NIST and CMMC.
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability testing.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents with remediation.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments for secure systems integration.
• Perform ISSM/ISSO duties including security documentation management.
• Conduct risk assessments and tabletop exercises to improve measures.
• Provide staff training on cybersecurity best practices.
• Maintain knowledge of threats, vulnerabilities and trends.
• Prepare reports on security findings and compliance status.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
