Job summary

Welch Packaging is seeking a Customer Service Representative to handle customer inquiries via phone and email, enter orders, and support sales. You will maintain accurate account data in Amtech, manage quotes, and coordinate shipments while keeping customers informed of status and issues.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and a focus on customer satisfaction in an onsite environment near Bridgeview, IL. Corrugated industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Functioning user of Amtech operating system.
• Ability to use email communication.
• Ability to learn and navigate customer web portals.
• Align with Welch Core Values.
• Good communication skills, organized, detail oriented, positive attitude, optimistic.
• Corrugated experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enter all orders following the six checkpoints to avoid PO issues and acknowledge to customer within 24 hours.
• Create and maintain correct customer information in Amtech.
• Maintain customer item specs.
• Ensure customers are satisfied with products or services.
• Coordinate customer pickups of defective products with shipping.
• Maintain relationships with customers and Territory Managers; main internal contact for Sales.
• Proactively inform customers of late/partial shipments and determine resolutions.
• Generate and maintain quotes distributed by Sales to customers.
• Qualify order due dates for short lead time orders and monitor machine hours and plant loading for bookings.
