RHA Health Services, LLC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Facility Based Crisis Certified Peer Support Specialist. The role focuses on recovery‑oriented, strength‑based approaches for individuals with mental health and substance use challenges within a multidisciplinary team.

You will provide individualized support, lead recovery conversations, assist in groups, and connect clients with resources, while advocating for consumer needs and community integration.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience working with the population supported.
• Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or 1 continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment and eligibility for certification.

Mansioni

• Meeting with clients to provide advice and support in accordance with a treatment plan.
• Assisting in peer support groups with assigned consumers on a regular basis.
• Supporting consumers in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems.
• Assisting clients by finding resources, advising the consumer of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions.
• Accompanying clients to meetings and participating in community group meetings to advocate for consumer needs.
• Fostering client development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities.
• Observing behavior and discussing observations with clients.
• Modeling coping and self-help techniques.
• Providing advice on empowerment skills and successful community living.
• Informing clients on community resources and how to use them; providing information to consumers and families on specific topics.
