Job summary

Summit is seeking a motivated Food Service Director for a correctional facility kitchen in Concordia, KS. This non-exempt, hourly role leads a team and oversees all aspects of the food service department to ensure meals are delivered on time.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience coordinating food service operations, knowledge of industrial cooking, and strong communication with staff and executives.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with strong client/customer focus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of the food service department and resources.
• Lead and hire/train a team of associates.
• Ensure staff meet culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budget the department; purchase ingredients and manage targets/forecasts.
• Coordinate with district manager and other departments on dining service aspects.
