Job summary

Summit is seeking a Food Service Director for a correctional facility kitchen in Concordia, KS. The role leads a team of food service workers, manages all department operations, and ensures meals are provided on schedule in a compliant, safe environment.

The position is non-exempt, hourly, and includes standard benefits and a supportive management structure. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a track record of supervising diverse teams in food service.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with hourly staff and company executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with strong focus on client and customer service.
• Experience with and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite applications.
• Nice-to-have: ServSafe and/or HACCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensure staff meet culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budget for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets targets and forecasts.
• Coordinate with the district manager or other departments regarding dining service aspects.
