Job summary
ABB is seeking a qualified engineer to join its Albuquerque manufacturing site, focusing on optimizing production through advanced control systems, robotics, and automation. You will develop and maintain instrumentation, perform tests, and collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
The role requires a BS in engineering with at least 5 years in manufacturing, experience with PLCs, ABB robotics preferred, and the ability to coordinate multiple
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with control systems, robotics, and automation.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to coordinate several projects.
- Must be able to work across three shifts when necessary.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain control systems, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Evaluates new manufacturing and control technologies. Adapting to specifications as appropriate.
- Confirm controls system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing or executing test procedures.
- Provide information to manufacturing, processes, and other engineering disciplines.
- Keep equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; implementing process improvements.
