Job summary

ABB is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Portland, TN to optimize assembly methods and equipment for high-volume production, focusing on quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Onsite work at the Portland facility is required.

The role reports to Engineering Manager II and requires a bachelor's in engineering and 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with PLCs, HMI, VFD, SCADA, and robotics is expected, along with CAD experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering needed.
3+ years in a manufacturing engineering environment.
Proficiency in automated technologies (PLC, HMI, VFD, SCADA, robotics).
Experience in 2D/3D CAD; Inventor/SolidWorks preferred.
Electrical, hydraulic, fabrication, plastics and electronic control training.
Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and install manufacturing equipment for high-volume production.
Provide programming, debugging and testing controls for automated systems; implement updates.
Provide high-level technical support to the maintenance department.
Interface with other departments on equipment improvements and training.
Document programs and publish reports on internal projects.
