Job summary

Haumiller Engineering in Belvidere, IL is seeking a Controls Engineer to develop and maintain electrical, pneumatic and software designs for automated equipment. The role requires 3–5 years of controls experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and servo drives.

Travel to the South Elgin location may be required (25–30%). You will analyze requirements, create diagrams and BOMs, and develop PLC/HMI software while ensuring designs meet safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in automation.
• Minimum 3–5 years as an Electrical Controls Engineer.
• Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs and wiring schematics.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware and safety systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze design requirements and generate electrical, pneumatic and software designs.
• Develop PLC and HMI software and verify designs via simulations and testing.
• Create accurate documentation including schematics and bills of materials.
• Identify changes to tools or processes to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
