Job summary

Paycom is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Controls Engineer in Wood Dale, IL to design, program, and troubleshoot complex packaging machinery from concept to installation. Minimum 5 years in automated controls with PLCs and HMIs, plus experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens Motion Control, is required.

Travel up to 25% is expected. The role includes creating electrical schematics, BOMs, and documentation, and leading controls projects to on-site customer acceptance while ensuring UL/CE/CSA

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum 5+ years of automated controls design experience with PLCs and HMIs.
Experience with AB and Siemens Motion Control platforms required.
Knowledge of risk assessments, UL, CE and CSA standards desired.
Ability to manage projects and lead controls engineers on projects.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Generate PLC and HMI programs for packaging machinery.
Specification of electrical components.
Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
Generate BOMs and project documentation.
Lead controls engineering on projects from concept to customer acceptance.
Travel 10–25% for service work and FAT.
