Job summary

BE&K Building Group seeks a motivated Construction Project / Field Engineer to support on-site activities. You will manage drawings, RFIs, and field reports, verify dimensions and subcontractor layouts, and track safety and quality assurance programs to ensure alignment with contract documents.

You will monitor daily activity, prepare schedules, and participate in meetings with clients, coordinating permits, testing, and inspections to drive project completion and acceptance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (ideal but not mandatory).
• 2+ years of experience in related construction fields.
• Self-motivated and organized with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents to the project team including plans, specs, RFIs, bulletins, and field reports.
• Manage layout and verify correctness of field dimensions.
• Verify subcontractor layout for compliance with line and grade.
• Champion the BE&K Quality Management Program and document deficiencies to final resolution.
• Monitor job progress on-site for compliance with contract documents.
• Document daily construction activity with reports, photos, and sketches.
• Create and distribute daily/weekly work plans, schedules and logistics.
• Attend weekly/monthly meetings with customers providing status updates and addressing concerns.
• Compile permits, testing, and inspections for project completion and acceptance.
• Assist in BE&K Safety Program administration and enforce safety requirements.
• Supervise and mentor BE&K Field Engineers.
• Communicate clear safety expectations to project teams.
