Job summary

HazTek is seeking a Construction Safety Professional in Upper Township, NJ to oversee daily site safety and support regulatory compliance. You will promote a proactive safety culture, work with project teams, and ensure safe work environments on active construction sites.

The role requires knowledge of excavation and trenching hazards, OSHA standards, and strong leadership to conduct trainings, audits, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing safety on active construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of excavation and trenching hazards.
• OSHA 30 and First Aid certification.
• Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and applicable safety requirements.
• Experience conducting inspections, leading safety meetings, and supporting incident investigations.
• Ability to identify hazards, communicate corrective actions, and hold teams accountable for safe work practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, documentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily onsite safety oversight for construction activities and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements.
• Conduct routine site inspections and audits to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow through on resolution.
• Monitor excavation, trenching, heavy equipment operations, and other high‑risk activities to ensure appropriate safety measures are in place.
• Implement and maintain site‑specific safety plans, policies, and procedures.
• Review job hazard analyses and assist project teams with planning work safely.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee training.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, document findings, and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and other safety activities.
• Partner with project leadership, contractors, and field personnel to address safety concerns and reinforce safe work practices.
• Verify proper use of personal protective equipment and intervene when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
