Haz Tek Safety Management is seeking a Construction Safety Professional for Upper Township, NJ to oversee daily site safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture. The role emphasizes excavation/trenching safety, incident investigations, and collaboration with project teams.

Ideal candidates will have construction safety experience, OSHA 30 certification, First Aid training, and the ability to lead safety orientations and trainings while maintaining thorough

Qualifications

• Overseeing safety on active construction sites
• Knowledge of excavation and trenching hazards, protective systems, and safe work practices
• OSHA 30 and current First Aid certification
• Knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety requirements
• Experience conducting inspections, leading safety meetings, and supporting incident investigations
• Ability to identify hazards, communicate corrective actions, and hold teams accountable for safe work practices
• Strong communication, leadership, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while building relationships with project teams
• Heavy civil, highway, or bridge construction experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide daily onsite safety oversight for construction activities and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
• Conduct routine site inspections and audits to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow through on resolution
• Monitor excavation, trenching, heavy equipment operations, and other high‑risk activities to ensure appropriate safety measures are in place
• Implement and maintain site‑specific safety plans, policies, and procedures
• Review job hazard analyses and assist project teams with planning work safely
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee training
• Investigate incidents and near misses, document findings, and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and other safety activities
• Partner with project leadership, contractors, and field personnel to address safety concerns and reinforce safe work practices
• Verify proper use of personal protective equipment and intervene when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed
