Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Manager with 0-5 years of commercial construction experience for a contract-to-hire role based in Chardon, OH. You will receive projects from the executive and estimating teams and lead kick-off meetings to define scope, schedule, and labor plans on site.

You will manage submittals, track equipment orders, and monitor job costs to protect gross profit while coordinating subcontractors and material deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management (or project management related degree).
• 0-5 years of experience in Commercial Construction for a GC or Subcontractor.
• Experience tracking RFIs, RFOs, billings and job cost.

Responsibilities

• Receive projects from the project executive and estimating team.
• Meet with the project executive and Field Manager to review in detail the new project.
• Meet with the foreman and key subcontractors to develop a clear understanding of the scope, job scheduling, and labor expectations to assure a successful project.
• Schedule and coordinate shop drawings.
• Review and understand the job bid sheet and the intent of the construction acquisition department.
• Work with project assistant to prepare and submit submittals, release and track equipment orders.
• Understand and assure that the projects projected gross profit is realized or exceeded.
• On site hands on controlling of all projects.
• Develop and track all RFIs, RCOs, COs, Billings, and job cost monitoring throughout the project.
• Coordinate sub-contractors including insulators, rigging, balancing, piping, controls, etc.
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
• Coordinate manpower requirements with Field Manager.
• Attend job meetings
• Build relationships with CM's and GC's supervisors and project managers
• Provide concise update of project status at weekly Friday morning company meetings
• Provide a strong job closeout which includes: Confirming all subcontractors are complete; Confirm that the control package expectations have been met; Schedule a walk-thru with the foreman and service tech to confirm start-up is ready; Coordinate balancing and start-up
