Job summary

Callahan Construction Managers is seeking an Assistant Superintendent 1 for a full‑time role in White Plains, NY. The position focuses on directing day‑to‑day field work, coordinating with the Lead Superintendent, and ensuring strict adherence to contract documents and Callahan procedures.

You will help manage safety, document project progress, and maintain construction records, while guiding subcontractors and field staff toward timely, quality project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Superintendent on daily construction plan and site execution.
• Administer and participate in the Callahan Safety Program, pre‑construction meetings, daily monitoring, and enforce safety requirements.
• Set clear safety expectations for project teams to aim for zero incidents.
• Maintain and distribute construction documents to subcontractors (plans, specs, RFIs, bulletins, field reports).
• Verify subcontractor layout for line, grade, openings and important dimensions.
• Support the Quality Management Program through inspections and tracking deficiencies to resolution.
• Monitor on‑site progress and ensure work complies with contract documents.
• Document daily construction activities with reports, photos, and sketches.
