Job summary

Fratello Construction Corp is seeking a meticulous Construction Bookkeeper to join our on-site team in Farmingdale, NY. You will manage the general ledger, reconciliation, AIA billing, payroll records, and vendor payments to keep projects financially on track.

With 7+ years in construction accounting and a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, you’ll provide accurate financial reporting and collaborate with project managers on job costs and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in construction
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong understanding of AIA billing, job cost accounting, and reconciliations
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage or similar & Microsoft Suite)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
• High level of integrity in managing confidential financial information

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and manage daily financial transactions
• Perform bank, credit card, and vendor reconciliations
• Process and review AIA billing forms and construction-related invoices
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and payroll records
• Generate financial reports and statements for management review
• Monitor vendor accounts, ensure timely payments, and resolve discrepancies
• Track expenses, allocations, and cost reports for ongoing projects
• Collaborate with project managers on job cost reporting and budgeting
• Assist in preparing for audits and tax filings
• Support implementation of financial systems and process improvements
