Job summary

Bradsby Group seeks a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning and start-up of renewable energy, waste-to-energy, wastewater, and industrial facilities across North America. The role involves working onsite with engineering, construction, automation, vendors, and operations to take projects from pre-commissioning through start-up, performance testing, and final handover.

Strong mechanical/process knowledge with controls experience is required, with a willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• 3–5+ years of industrial commissioning/start-up experience preferred.
• Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA and loop/I-O testing beneficial.
• Ability to read P&IDs and control schematics; strong field troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute onsite commissioning from pre-commissioning through start-up and handover.
• Develop and execute commissioning procedures, checklists, and test protocols.
• Verify mechanical completion and system readiness prior to start-up.
• Perform equipment checkout, calibration verification, loop checks, I/O checks, and functional testing.
• Support dry and wet commissioning of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems.
• Coordinate activities with construction teams, automation engineers, vendors, and client personnel.
• Track progress, punch lists, and corrective actions; support turnover documentation.
