Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls to lead field commissioning across North America. You will drive pre-commissioning, start-up, SAT, performance testing, and handover for complex plants, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will work with P&IDs, process diagrams, electrical drawings, and control schematics to prove systems are ready for full operation. Extensive travel and hands-on problem solving are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline; equivalent technical diploma considered.
• 3–5 years of relevant industrial experience, including hands-on commissioning and/or start-up and operations.
• Ability to read P&IDs, process flow diagrams, electrical drawings, and control schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel 70% across North America.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, checklists, and test protocols.
• Coordinate onsite commissioning from pre-commissioning through start-up, SAT and handover.
• Verify mechanical completion and system readiness before commissioning begins.
• Troubleshoot equipment, instrumentation, controls, and process issues and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare commissioning reports and turnover documentation.
• Promote safety practices including LOTO and risk assessments.
