Job summary

Boston Beer Corporation is seeking a motivated Co‑op to join the Research & Development Quality Assurance team at our Boston Brewery in Jamaica Plain, MA. You will support chromatography, fermentation analysis, and quality testing in a fast-paced beverage manufacturing environment.

Gain hands-on experience with GC/LC, learn brewing science, and work closely with experienced scientists. This 6-month program runs January 4, 2027 to June 25, 2027, onsite five days a week.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Forensic Science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Brewing, or a related scientific discipline.
• Must remain enrolled in school after co-op completion.
• Previous co-op experience or coursework involving wet laboratory techniques.
• Experience with GC and/or LC.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate chromatography instruments for daily analysis and data collection.
• Support GMP audits and ensure lab safety and documentation.
• Prepare samples, perform GC/LC analyses, and interpret results.
• Manage sample inventory and data entry into QA databases.
• Assist with fermentation sample analysis and process data entry.
• Maintain lab records, SOPs, and daily operations in a brewery QA lab.
