Job summary

PPG in Circleville, OH is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to be the technical lead for assigned reactor systems, onsite at our Circleville facility. You will report to the Process Engineering Manager and drive safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing.

Responsibilities include monitoring production from raw materials to customer delivery, leading reactor operations, scaling up new products, applying Lean methods, and developing production logs and training for operators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
• Understanding of polymer/organic chemistry.
• Basic knowledge of chemical plant unit operations and equipment operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality of and improve manufacturing methods from raw material receipt to customer delivery.
• Lead proper operation of reactor systems to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Lead scale-up of new products and assure quality systems for process changes.
• Use Lean methodologies to find opportunities, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop complete and accurate production logs to ensure safe procedures for producing quality products.
• Complete daily technical review of production batches.
• Support the development and presentation of training programs for operators and other department personnel.
