Job summary

PPG is seeking a Process Control Engineer for our Circleville, OH facility to provide technical leadership in designing, maintaining, and upgrading process control, automation, and safety systems. You will collaborate with Process Engineering and operations to optimize 24/5/24/7 performance, safety, and energy efficiency across our manufacturing campus.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and hands-on PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience and certifications.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming, process instrumentation in an industrial environment, or willingness to learn.
Experience with GE Proficy iFix SCADA, Plant PAX, HMI, and historian software is a plus.
Experience reading and interpreting P&ID’s and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Provide process control systems and instrumentation technical leadership to support the sites’ 24/5 and 24/7 operations.
Identify and oversee continuous improvement opportunities with electrical and control systems, including process safety interlocks, communications with batch servers, and process automation software.
Design, manage, and troubleshoot process control and automation capital expansion projects. Satisfy projects’ functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements.
Provide field supervision of employees and contractors, improving labor relations, and leading inter-disciplinary teams.
Develop and modify project and special process documentation, including technical writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and training documentation.
Develop and implement other information systems using process data, ie. MES, ERP interaction, and data historian systems.
