Job summary

Verizon is actively seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support and optimize our industry-leading network in Farmington or Gallup, NM. You will troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain network systems to ensure high availability and reliable performance for customers and partners.

The role requires an Associate’s degree or 2+ years of experience, plus 3+ years in the field, and a willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• You’ll need to have an Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Even better if you have one or more of the following: a technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies like Telephony Switching, Data Communications and Network Routers.
• Computer support experience, including troubleshooting PC hardware and configurations.

Responsibilities

• Performing optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network systems and applications to identify overall system availability and performance.
• Evaluating network coverage to find gaps, making recommendations to improve coverage, and helping to implement those recommendations.
• Performing triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events.
• Generating, driving, and updating problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems and continuously improving business practices.
• Escalating issues to the appropriate internal/external engineer teams for resolution.
