Job summary

The CALS Facilities team at Cornell University seeks a Facilities Manager to oversee operations for approximately 10 to 15 major academic buildings on the Ithaca campus. You will coordinate repairs, safety inspections, and capital projects in collaboration with university shops and stakeholders.

Qualified candidates have a bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of related experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a valid NYS driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years facilities management experience.
• Experience with institutional building maintenance including electric, plumbing, HVAC.
• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to corrective and emergency facility issues in consultation with leadership and staff.
• Prioritize and coordinate maintenance with stakeholders and university trades shops.
• Provide operational support for emergencies like power outages and utility disruptions.
• Oversee and distribute keys, support Building Assessment and list of high-priority needs in FPNMS.
• Participate in construction/renovation project coordination and bid processes.
