Job summary

Auria Space is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical software for the BOA program.

The role is onsite in Boulder, CO, with responsibilities spanning feature development, architectural guidance, and cross-team collaboration. You will mentor engineers, drive modernization efforts, and participate in Agile ceremonies while delivering robust, scalable software across multi-language systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 9+ years of related experience, or Master's Degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience in a Linux environment with C/C++ and Python.
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead engineers and perform code reviews.
• Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance to start, with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, deploy, and debug software for the BOA program.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead architecture discussions and modernization of legacy code.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and use Jira for tracking.
• Coordinate with test team to automate and resolve defects.
