Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma in Engineering required.
• Massachusetts Department of Fire Service 3rd Class Engineer required.
• Massachusetts Department of Public Safety and Inspections Division Hoisting Engineer preferred.
• Engineering experience 2-3 years required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, repair and clean high-pressure heating plant equipment.
• Observe the operation of the plant and make necessary adjustments.
• Respond to emergencies and equipment breakdown.
• Read meters and gauges at specified intervals to insure proper temperature, pressure, water levels, etc.
• Keep power plant logs by recording readings, steam and power generated, fuel usage, maintenance performed and similar data to keep accurate records.
• Responsible for testing boiler water and returns.
• Add chemicals when necessary for proper mix to insure correct balance.
• Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards.
